2005 - 2010 Programme
At the end of 2010, the Carnegie UK Trust reviewed its current and future strategic focus and priorities – a process which is rooted in our Trust Deed and Royal Charter, and that has normally been undertaken every five years throughout our history.
As a result, a new strategic plan was launched in January 2011, changing the focus over the five years to 2015 to meet the challenges of a very different UK and Republic or Ireland as effectively as possible.
We were building on the foundation work of the previous five years where the Trust operated through two major work programmes anchored in the work of large scale Commissions of Inquiry:
- Supporting rural communities to shape and influence change
- Strengthening democracy and civil society. The Democracy and Civil Society work had two elements:
- A Commission into the Future for Civil Society
- Research into understanding the “Power” of groups and communities and work with communities to support them to capture their power to influence change.
These programmes came to an end in December 2010.
