The Online Safety Bill (OSB) had its Second Reading in the House of Lords on Wednesday 1 February, with over 60 Peers speaking in a debate that lasted nearly 6 hours. There were many recurring themes in the debate, a number of which reflected issues that Carnegie UK have raised frequently during the development of the legislation to date. You can read all our previous blog posts and evidence submissions on our dedicated OSB resource page.
In the pages below, we bring together our most recent analysis of the issues that Peers will return to in the course of the Committee stages of the Bill. We also provide a short explainer on the Bill and a reminder of the milestones in its development to date.
